Another feather in our cap is the Dr. PSR Education Fund, which we instituted in memory of one of Udaan’s senior-most and most accomplished members. An inspiration for one and all, Dr. P S Ramanathan, who passed away at 78, was a passionate advocate for education. He used his vast knowledge to teach many children in his lifetime. Carrying his legacy forward, Udaan provides scholarships in his name for several children at Anugrah Vidya Mandir, Ambernath.

The education of these children is sponsored until they leave the institution, or up to Standard 10.

Overwhelming support for this initiative is seen amongst the donors. While a few have sponsored multiple children, others sponsor a single child for multiple years in advance. A proper database is compiled to monitor the children’s performances, attendance and health status and the sponsors are also kept informed about the status of the child being sponsored. This feedback has given a lot of satisfaction and confidence to the donors and has motivated them to continue their support.

Udaan continued to collect funds under the Dr. PSR Education Fund.
